Clinical Scientist for Obesity and Cardiometabolic Disease to AMRA Medical
Who are we?
AMRA is a ground-breaking international digital health company at the forefront of medical imaging and precision medicine. AMRA was founded in 2010 as a spin-off of Linköping University, Sweden, with the aim to support transformative care and vital decision-making, from clinical research to health and wellness. Today we are 40+ employees, operating in the US, European and Asian market, with the need to expand further.
The company has developed a new global standard in body composition assessment, the ability to automatically produce multiple fat and muscle biomarkers with unrivaled precision and accuracy, as well as contextual disease insights – all from a single whole-body MRI. We work close to academia, and with the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies and hospitals across the globe.
Job description
As a Clinical Scientist focused on the cardiometabolic (including, e.g., diabetes, cardiovascular disease, kidney disease) and obesity area, you will be part of the Science team and support a wide range of research studies including pharmaceutical clinical trials and academic research. The tasks are varied, including acting as AMRA’s lead scientist for selected projects, being responsible for the scientific integrity of deliverables, as well as supporting internally and externally with scientific expertise on AMRA’s offerings and products in the cardiometabolic and obesity area.
With the rising market for anti-obesity medications, this role will be central in supporting studies investigating changes in fat distribution and muscle composition with significant weight reduction. AMRA has a strong scientific foundation and presence, leading to possibilities of being involved in research studies as a co-researcher/author in both internal and external scientific projects.
Most of the team is based in Linköping, Sweden. However, this position is not required to be based in Linköping as we are open to distance working. Travelling expectations are up to 5 days a month.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for candidates with an interest in medicine, clinical research, and applications of fat and muscle imaging. As you will need to develop an understanding for AMRA’s technical platform, measurements and biomarkers, a technical background and corresponding degree is highly valuable – for example in engineering physics (teknisk fysik), engineering mathematics (teknisk matematik), or similar. Experience within medicine and research is valuable but not required. Programming skills are valuable, in particular R and Python.
As we collaborate with colleagues and customers all over the world, you need to be fluent in both spoken and written English and be comfortable speaking and presenting to external parties.
What do we offer?
We offer a stimulating workplace with satisfying work tasks, highly knowledgeable colleagues and opportunities to make a difference. We are a young company that has a strong scientific foundation, now building a worldwide market presence. As part of our team, you will get an opportunity to contribute to a healthier world. We are a growing team of high-performers from around the world. We are a flat organization with open dialogue and climate, where you will have the opportunity to influence and grow.
